this weekend summed up in one word...fabulous!

oh who am i kidding, one word is not gonna do it for me.

i had forgotten how great boston is. when i lived there, i had so much right outside my door and i can't remember if i took advantage of everything or not.

when we arrived at our hotel, after about an hour of looking for a parking spot, i noticed that there was a gay bar right at the inn. we soon after found out that not only was the bar gay but so was the hotel. no wonder i got a strange look when i checked in.

we had a wonderful dinner at a restaurant we just stumbled across. it turns out that we completly lucked out. it was a little diamond in the ruff. the chefs are world renowned, but the owner does not advertise so not many people know about it. it may have been the best dining experience i have ever had. it was late so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. while we were finishing up our bottle of wine, the staff started to sing happy birthday to the owner and we even got a piece of birthday cake. we felt at home and were treated as part of the gang. it was nice.

after dinner we went out for a drink but got tired quickly of standing so we headed back to the hotel.

saturday was beautiful. it was sunny and warm. the perfect spring day. we walked up to newbury street for lunch. we ate outside, and the food was almost as good as the night before. yes we ate like a king and queen on this trip.

after walking around for a bit we decided to go to the science museum. we took the T and so many memories came back to me in a flash. we passed north station and i remembered that almost everyday for a year that was the station i would get off to go to work at the coffee shop. i also had visions of the last time the grateful dead played there, but that is another story.

the museum was just how i remembered it minus the modern food court. we bought tickets for the imax theatre. it was amazing. we saw mt. everest. i highly recommend it. it was an amazing, beautiful story. they kept referring to being at the top of the world and i guess they really were.

after getting a bit cleaned up we decided it was time to start heading over to the orpheaum theater for belle and sebastian. we had some time to kill and jon wanted to go to cheers. i had never been there before, it was pretty cool. it's alot smaller than the cheers on tv but it was a really nice pub. we had veggie burgers and then walked to the theatre.

the show was so much fun. the music was ofcourse amazing and we laughed alot too. he is funny and really got the crowed going. he invited someone from the audience to sing a song. i thought that was really cool.

saturday was truely the perfect day.

yesterday before making our way back home, we stopped in cambridge for yet another meal. it was nice although we spent far too much time looking for a parking spot. we ended up buying a rug that was on sale for $40. it is pretty and soft and fluffy. it will look nice in our living room once we get our purple couch.

it was nice to come home to the cats and our own place. i made taco's for dinner since it was cinco de mayo, watched 'six feet under', read two more chapters in 'the sun also rises', and fell asleep in my own bed.
